Terror attacks in Mumbai on the 26th November 2008 left hundreds in need of blood. It was an act that left an indelible mark on each one of us.
The situation demanded urgency and saw 150 people come together on the 30th November 2008 to donate blood, which was to be sent to Mumbai. People of all ages donated blood, comprising mainly youth, in between the age groups 18-25 who stood out to help the society.
Speaking to the various donors, one of the youth’s said,” it was nice to donate blood to the Mumbai victims.” Some were excited and exclaimed, ”scary but feels good, feels like doing something towards country.” Some remarked it as an exceptional experience and some said, ”We go on picnic on Sundays but me and my group came for Blood donation, it feels like and Indian now.
Various thanked WAYE for doing a splendid job so as to take the country forward. This camp organized by WAYE and Ruby Hall saw people from all sections of the society come together to mark a change to do something for the country, the society and humanity.
