ECO DRIVES:

In various cities around the world, graduates of the WAYE programs have led street
adoption and city cleanup efforts. These include recycling and cleanliness drives,
which have completely transformed many environmentally degraded areas of India.
For example, the Mumbai Clean Up campaign featured 1800 college students
taking leadership to clean 100 streets in the city.To celebrate the Global Youth
Service Day which is the largest annual celebration of young volunteers. Millions
of young people in countries everywhere highlight and carry out thousands of community
improvement projects. In keeping with the UN Millennium Development Goals, the Art of Living Foundation Youth chose to make its
objective to ensure environmental sustainability to be the focus of this year's
Global Youth Service day.

GO VEG WALK:

On 30th September 2008 in Pune, Maharashtra, the march started at about 1 pm and
carried it on for 45 min. Everyone wore animal masks, and many held placards with
really humourous yet hard hitting punch lines like, “Are you a living grave?”
Eating animals is also bad for our health and the environment. Consumption of meat
and other animal products has been conclusively linked to strokes, heart disease,
diabetes, obesity and some types of cancer. And a recent UN report concluded that
raising animals for food causes more of the greenhouse-gas emissions blamed for
global warming than all the cars, trucks, trains, ships, and planes in the world
combined.
