World Alliance For Youth Empowerment

Inspired by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, World
Alliance for Youth Empowerment (WAYE) was founded in 2006 as a Non Government Organization
by IITians Khurshed Batliwala and
Dinesh Ghodke. WAYE is under the aegis of The Art of Living
Foundation which is headquartered at Bangalore, India.

WAYE was officially inducted during Yuvaratri - “Night of the Youth”
under the guidance of the founder of The Art of Living Foundation, His Holiness
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. A confederation of over 75,000 youth from all over the nation,
on the Christmas eve of 2007, witnessed the official launch of WAYE.

Vision:

Educate and spread awareness to enable young people realize their self-identified
aspirations; empower and train young people physically, spiritually, economically
and socially for enabling participation and leadership towards creating a world
free of poverty, violence, corruption and exploitation; and influence key systems,
institution's policies, to inspire responsibility human values among young people
for sustainable social change.

Mission:

WAYE’s mission is to prevent the mainstream youth from being marginalized
and to empower them into societal reforms of their choice.
|
|
|
|
WAYE has expeditiously launched a series of programs, in keeping with vision, that
have delivered substantial benefits. Featuring practical leadership training
methods, WAYE programs have given thousands worldwide the precious skills and confidence
to participate in and resolve societal-level challenges.

|
|
WAYE has converged many development models and programs featuring youth as the catalysts
for community-driven development and socioeconomic change. The various activities
undertaken by WAYE range from global conferences to special youth events and university
programs to service projects. Significant activities are ongoing and in the pipeline.
WAYE is continually extending the reach and scale of its impact through a multitude
of heterogeneous avenues in various states in India as well as globally.

After undergoing WAYE programs, youth have testified to seeing major transformations
in their life, including increased self-esteem and strong confidence levels that
have led to heightened commitment towards humanitarian service for society. WAYE's
practical approaches to education are uniquely all-inclusive and feasibly implementable
at a worldwide scale.

Young people often feel neglected, purposeless, and little hope of securing the
sort of opportunities that will elevate the quality of their lives. The impetus
behind the WAYE's programs are to offer a platform to support them in all aspects
of their lives.

These programs address the critical human development element of holistic education.
The diverse service projects and program of WAYE ensure that thousands move towards
a more peaceful and progressive society.

As the youth empowerment wing of The Art of Living Foundation, WAYE is working with
the full awareness that investments in youth are irrevocably linked to the achievement
of the Millennium Development Goals. It has pursued a youth empowerment strategy
that can feasibly be implemented with sustainable results.

WAYE’s vision for every youth is to enjoy a violence-free society, a stress-free
mind, a disease-free body and an inhibition-free intellect, which according to
WAYE are the universal birthrights of all people on this planet!
